The apartment I stayed in was nice and close to the new Halifax farmer’s market. I love farmer’s markets, so this was obviously my first stop of the day when I set out last Saturday.

It was one of the few truly rainy or drizzly days I’ve encountered this trip, and I walked the Halifax harbour front trying to enjoy the authentic Maritime experience, aka trying to make the best of the wind and the rain. I explored the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, which was generally excellent but had two standout exhibits. Those were the Halifax explosion exhibit and the Titanic visit.
After wandering to the Historic Properties and having some lunch, I decided that, before I headed to the airport to pick up my partner, I would go do the Alexander Keith’s brewery tour.

It was terrific. It was not what I was expecting, truth be told, but it includes a time travel conceit and copious amounts of singing with enthusiastic costumed players really giving it their all.
And beer, of course. Obviously it includes beer.
Then it was off to the airport, where I picked up my husband (he’s joined me for the Nova Scotia and Newfoundland legs of the trip) and I got to do the harbour walk again, this time with less rain.
